Well after catching the black bore in my area that ran off the three big bucks that I have been watching with my cameras I moved the hog trap over to another club members stand. He is having a little hog problem there. He put out a 100 lbs of corn & it was gone in 2 days. This area is only 1600 yards from where I caught the bore.
Well we got him!!! 15 days after we set the trap we caught the big black hog!!! Now we are after a sow & 8 or 9 piglets.Another club member has a pig problem at is deer stand.
The hog trap has been out since the 18th of Aug .No hog caught yet but it is only a matter of time. I have pictures of this one big black hog in the area every night since we put the trap out. I put some corn out in the door way & on the ground inside the trap leading to the trough with a lot more corn which will drop the door to catch him. All the corn on the ground is gone but he didn't touch the corn in the trough!!! I sprinkled some more corn in the pine bark pile where the hogs have been rooting & it is amazing how well they can go through that stuff & get every kernel of corn!!!
We have been seeing hog sign around one of my stands when we were going out to work on the stands getting them ready for the up coming deer season. Dennis seen one big black one the other day said it stood up around 3ft tall so thought I would make a trap for it & see if we can catch it. Here it is about 90% done!!!
Dennis & I have been busy all year long getting things ready for the up coming hunting season. With Dewey's little boy Danny wanting to hunt with him & Aaron with me & Dennis' grand son wanting to hunt we spent a lot of time enlarging all of our one man stands to be two man stand. We are just about finished. Still got to put a new roof on one of Dewey's stands.With all that & building a new 2 man stand for Willene & a new stand for Jim( a new member) we have been busy. In our spare time we put in 4 food plots,started putting out salt & minerals for the deer. The deer were really hitting the minerals really hard around 12 & 21 stands.Here are a couple photos of the bucks in the area.
I have three big bucks coming to the minerals in my area along with 3 or 4 smaller bucks. I would not mind taking any of the bigger ones!!! Looking forward to a great hunting season. I have been getting hundreads of photos of thest bucks in this area.
When I got back from England I just had to go check my cameras. The one as I expected had dead batteries but the other had 1762 pictures. The big bucks are still in the area by my stands. Still no pictures of any bambi's.

With just 3 days left before we leave to go on our trip to England just had to go check my cameras one more time. I moved my Reconyx RC-60 from a place in the thicket where I was getting 30-35 pictures a week to this area and in 4 days I got 355 pictures. The big buck is back with two 8 point buddies.
