My car - the Carina - is done for.
It needs a new radiator and a new muffler - which would cost us £ 358. Chris and I decided that it really wasn't worth it for us to do because we'd been thinking about a bigger car anyway. Now with the dog, we'd like to be able to load him up and take him places with us and in either of our cars, it just wasn't going to work well.
With the in-laws coming we had made a reservation to rent a van which would have been £325 for the week. We ran across someone leaving who was selling a van for $950 ...so, cost wise, it was a bargain. It is less than what it would be for me to fix my car and rent the van and yet, it's serving both purposes. Brilliant.
We don't have it yet, the dude we are buying it from leaves here in a couple weeks and needs it until then, which is totally fine. But I did take some pictures of it while it was parked this morning ....
It's a 94 Honda Odyssey - it's the narrow and smaller mini-van. It's more like... a bigger station wagon.
It is crazily clean and taken care of inside and out for a 94 .
Complete with a Bayern sticker on the back there, just for Kema.
Seriously, I adore this piece of EU history.
It's damn nifty that for one night - the continent just gets musical and somewhat goofy. Although, this year was a little disappointing because some of the songs were actually serious- they TRIED to be... for realz.
The winning song, was actually not bad - and kinda cute.
I really liked the Ukrainian stripper...but she didn't place very high at all. But, Eurovision to me is all about the outrageousness and spangly costumes.
Mind you, this crazy bitch sold her house to pay for the set so that she can build the set for this show.
Greece ... on a huge stapler. Wha? I was confused ... turns out this guy is a star in Greece...and an Olympic gymnast.
The shocker of the night was Germany. I loved them.. and gettin' DVT on the show.... nuts... and brilliant. It was a catchy as shit song too.
See..I like the crazy ones...the entertaining ones. But, I'll give credit where it's due.
The UK wasn't bad.... Jade is gorgeous...and it's a cheesy ballad soooooo...
And Malta was amazing...that bitch could belt out a tune....
When the UK was giving 12 points we were a little bit happy.....
Julie brought over these Union Jacks for us to hang everywhere. Chris is very talented with the decorating...
We really had a nice time, just good company and some awesome nibbles and some alcohol.
So, Jess was here, she spent our birthdays and Mother's Day here. It was fabulous.
We didn't do some outrageous stuff, but we did do..
We went to the pub quiz for both our birthdays.....
And some of those nights were a bit crazy.
Jess was queen of the quiz..and the jukebox.
It got a little nuts - well, Julie did.
I do love that woman, she's going to be just about the only thing in this country that I'll miss.
Bob and Ash were manly men...and had their dude talk. And Julie and Joan had their lady talk...
While Jess and I played retarded songs and talked our normal hilarity.
There was some discussion - I'm not sure how this all started.... but....somehow....it was arranged that Jessica will divorce Will, and marry Ash and then Julie will marry Will. It was pretty damn funny - because after some brewski- Julie came home and emailed Will and told him all about it. See why I'm going to miss these goobers?!
This is the lovely photo that came after that conversation - how Julie will kill Ash for running off with Jess...
Total goons - can't wait for the quiz when Will is actually here then I can get a picture of Will killing Ash while Julie kills Jess. It will be the start of my faux murder coffee table book.

While Jess was here, she was unfairly suckered into chaperoning a field trip with Kenna. It's those puppy dog eyes, they get her everytime..her and everyone else on the planet.
Jess did have a good time though - hanging at the petting zoo- with 5 little girls.
She did take some adorable pictures with baby sheeps and little cute kids.
Jess told me that this wall - was just a freestanding thing, and the goat would just go back there poke his head through.
York was another of our stops. Jess had a few things to pick up -
It was a quick trip, just a couple hours, but enough time to have Chris buy fudge and for me to take cheesy pictures of the chitlins.
Of course when she left it sucked .... but she'll be back soon...!
